Our Story

Velvet Mylk was founded by Melissa - first-time mum, former luxury fashion buyer, and lifelong lover of colour. (You might spot her infamous mustard yellow fireplace on our socials. She painted it one night before bed. That’s very Melissa.)

After welcoming her daughter, Melissa found herself searching for baby bedding that was genuinely safe and genuinely beautiful. Everything organic came in beige. Everything playful came full of chemicals. So she created something better.

With years of experience in luxury childrenswear buying, Melissa knew exactly what quality looked and felt like- and she knew babies deserved it too. Velvet Mylk was born from the belief that life doesn’t have to be beige, and that the softest start in life should also be the most joyful one.

Our prints are inspired by childhood nostalgia and Melissa’s love of colour - the kind of designs that make you smile every time you walk into the nursery, and that babies grow up remembering. We believe the early years should feel as joyful as they are safe.
